VERA LIST CENTER FORUM
Vera List Center For Art and Politics, The New School

The Vera List Forum brought together the finalists of the 2019 Jane Lombard Prize for Art and Social Justice, six artists working around the world at the forefront of art and social change, for a residency and symposium at The New School. Held over a week, the Forum featured: Pan African Space Station, an installation and pop-up radio station by prize-winner Chimurenga at The New School’s Sheila C. Johnson Design Center; FESTAC ‘77, a 14-peice concert by Craig Harris commemorating his participation at the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture in Lagos, Nigeria in 1977 as part of Sun Ra Arkestra; and a full day symposium, Global Voices: Conversations with Jane Lombard Fellows, that explored the political and social dimensions of their practices.
