Luce Productions worked with the Joan Mitchell Foundation team to help develop and manage the production plan for the year-long series of events in Paris, New York, Chicago, and New Orleans. In addition, Luce Productions helped produce a three-day field-wide convening on artists’ legacies that welcomed 150 visual artists, archivists, curators, administrators, artist estate stewards, funders, and other cultural workers in an open forum for resource-sharing and exchange.&nbsp;The goals of the convening were to map existing resources and innovative approaches for artists' legacies, while advocating for more training, funding, and visibility for this topic within the arts ecosystem. Returning to the Festival Pavilion after a three year hiatus, the 2023 Benefit Art Auction raised $800,000, with just under $150,000 going directly back to donating Auction artists. The former home of pioneering Bay Area conceptual Artist David Ireland, the building is a living sculpture developed by Ireland during his lifetime. Today, Capp Street hosts exhibitions, programs, education workshops, provides access to its collection and archives of Bay Area conceptualism, and serves as a hub of community building and artistic experimentation in San Francisco’s Mission District. The 2022 Benefit brought together supporters for a celebration at the house to honor artist Mildred Howard and enjoy a culinary experience by Salimatu Amabebe, performances by Newoncé Gazelle, DJ Mare.E.Fresh of Chulita Vinyl Club and Bateria Batuci, culinary delights by Miles Ake, Ryoji Kajikawa and Chef Coco, a live and silent auction, and raffles of artist-driven items. In 2023, Luce Productions organized 500 Capp Street’s second annual Benefit honoring Cuban-American artist, Tony Labat and featured a live and silent auction consisting of works from the collection of Artspace founder Anne MacDonald. Art21’s mission is to produce and share compelling video media that explores the worlds and works of contemporary artists, with the goal of democratizing arts education. In 2024 Luce Productions produced Art21’s Spring Gala, which celebrated the achievements of David Howe, Amy Sherald, and Hiroshi Sugimoto. Welcoming over 275 friends, artists, filmmakers, and supporters, the evening featured a live auction of one-of-a-kind artist experiences with Drake Carr, Aliza Nisenbaum, and Guadalupe Maravilla; a live performance by Grammy-nominated rapper and singer Tierra Whack; remarks from Art21 artists; and activations by event sponsors. In 2022, Art21 Family Reunion brought together the organization’s expansive network of artists, filmmakers, educators, trustees, funders, and supporters to celebrate Art21 President Emerita Migs Wright and award-winning filmmakers Stanley Nelson and Marcia Smith of Firelight Media. The event featured a silent auction of artworks by Art21 artists including drawings, paintings, sculptures, and film. The event featured customized Art21-themed games, buffet-style dining, crafted cocktails, and a lively afterparty hosted by artist and DJ Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. Art21 at the Movies consisted of two evenings of movie premieres that brought together the worlds of film and contemporary art. Opening Night at the Metrograph theater on the Lower East Side premiered Esteban Cabeza de Baca’s Time Travels and the third episode from Art in the Twenty-First Century Season 11, Friends &amp; Strangers. Artists Esteban Cabeza de Baca, Miranda July, Cannupa Hanska Luger, Linda Goode Bryant, and Christine Sun Kim introduced their works, along with director Chiemi Karasawa who offered insights into the filmmaking process. SVA Theatre hosted the event series’s second premiere, which featured the 3-D film Westermann: Memorial to the Idea of Man If He Was an Idea by Pentimenti Productions, executive produced by KAWS (Brian Donnelly). The premiere was followed by a panel discussion with Trenton Doyle Hancock, Aaron Curry, John Corbett, and the film’s director, Leslie Buchbinder. Through events across the boroughs, the events bring together housing advocates, small business leaders, organizers, economic justice practitioners, government employees from the city and state, financial investors and regulators, and academics for pressing conversations around housing on building community power. Luce Productions worked with the community to produce&nbsp;Westbeth at 50, an exhibition showcasing and honoring the five decades of artistic innovation that has taken place within Westbeth’s walls. The exhibition included large-scale photographs of original tenants by Frankie Alduino, a timeline of some of the many artists, activists, writers, musicians, and performers that have passed through the building, and a montage of photographs by Leonard Freed, published in Avant Garde Magazine, that show snapshots of life in the building after its opening in 1970. Westbeth provides affordable live-work space for nearly 400 artists and their families. Located at the historic site of the former Bell Laboratories campus in the West Village, Westbeth comprises an entire New York City block facing the Hudson River. Westbeth opened in 1970 as an early example of large-scale adaptive reuse of an industrial building. One of the largest artists’ housing facilities in the world, Westbeth was home to the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for over 40 years. The program included a keynote address by Patricia Marroquin Norby, associate curator of Native American art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, over 14 panel sessions and presentations, as well as virtual artist studio visits, social hours, and an awards ceremony.&nbsp; The Native American Art Studies Association (NAASA) exists to encourage the ongoing study and exchange of ideas on Native American art north of the Rio Grande and including the First Nations of Canada. Their first-ever benefit and auction&nbsp;celebrated the unique interdisciplinary and collaborative approach of the organization, featuring conversations, walks, behind-the-scenes tours, and experiences with visionary artists, scientists, architects and designers working at the forefront of re-imagining a sustainable future for our cities. From a one-on-one conversation with NASA climatologist Cynthia Rosenzweig, to a walking tour with landscape architect Kate Orff, to a conversation with Joseph Kunkel,&nbsp;Director of MASS Design Group’s Sustainable Native Communities Design Lab in Santa Fe, to a tour of the newly-built Pier 26 on Manhattan's west side Lucinda R. Sanders FASLA and Demetrios Staurinos, RLA, of Olin Studio, the auction focused on connecting people to learn, engage, and take action around climate change issues.&nbsp; The virtual benefit,&nbsp;hosted by PBS presenter and journalist Laura Flanders, gathered CALL’s community members to honor Agnes Gund. The program featured a conversation between Agnes Gund and award-winning landscape architect Walter Hood, a reading by essayist Garnette Cadogan, a discussion with CALL's founder Mary Miss, and interactive breakout rooms with leading artists, scientists, and ecologists, spotlights on CALL's projects from the Bronx to Milwaukee. ︎︎︎
